Christina Kimerle announcemented the Fore the House Golf Tournament has sold out. Congratulations to all who will be participating. Christina also mentioned the event will include a wine auction. If you are able to donate bottles of wine, please bring this to our next meeting. Rtn. Jon Brown announced there was a new member meeting following the club meeting. PROGRAM: Rtn. Devin van Holsteijn, introduced Ted Abel, Director of Iowa Neuroscience Institute. Ted works within the Neuroscience department which is made possible by the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust. The Tust provides the University of Iowa a $45 million grant which allowed for the creation of a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary neuroscience center that links the Carver College of Medicine with departments and colleges across the broader campus. Ted and his team conducts research to find the causes of and preventions, treatments and cures for the many diseases that affect the brain and nervous system. After audience questions President McKay thanked Ted for his educational presentation. The meeting ended at 1:00 pm as President Mike led the assembly in reciting The Four Way Test. |
