The meeting was called to order at 1210 pm and then we sang ‘Smile’.

 

 

In our mission of service above self, we have two potentially important service projects in the planning stage and in need of volunteers:

 

1) “Meals on Wheels”:  Volunteers are needed to plan a joint project with other area clubs to deliver meals once/week X 52 weeks.  Contact Margaret R. for details.

 

2) Satellite Club: Volunteers are needed to plan and launch a satellite club.  Ditto-contact Margaret R.

 

3) Joint Meeting next Wednesday, 11/22, noon, with C’ville/N. Corridor Clubs at Hampton Inn on 1^st Ave., Coralville.

 

Verne Folkman presented a Paul Harris citation to Jon Culshaw.

PROGRAM:

Perennial favorite Chris Knapp (intro. by Margaret R.) presented “RAG4Clubfoot/Create Hope in the World”.  FYI, Chris’ father and grandfather were both members of this club before he joined!  Rotary Action Group 4 (RAG4) is one of 25 action groups authorized by RI.  RAGs “help unite Rotarians to do good in the world”, to some specific end (e.g., clubfoot and the Poncetti Method).  RI’s International Advisory board guides RAG’s in organizing, planning and developing focus.

RAG4 has been active in South and Central America since its inception.  It now aims now to distribute information to new rural populations via local community influencers in target countries to expand use of the Poncetti method to Africa, Asia and India. 

The meeting ended with the recitation of The Four Way Test.
