Faith Academy in second year of serving needy students
Jeff Disterhoft shared how Faith Academy is combining education and faith to provide a school experience for at-risk children in the Iowa City area. Faith Academy grew out of the work of the SPOT afterschool programming sponsored by Parkview Church . See website http://www.faithacademyiowa.org/ for more information.

MEETING
Moment of Silence for The Rev. Robert Holzhammer, president of the Iowa City Rotary Club on the ocassion of its 50th anniversary, who died this week.
Singing: Bob Crane with Jim Conard on the piano led the singing of America the Beautiful and Vive le Rotary.

- Andre Perry encouraged everyone to find something for themselves at the up-coming Mission Creek Festival.
- Mel Schlachter asked for a show of interest in the annual paddle-canoeing event.
- Tim Terry urged Rotarians to contact legislators to urge action on education legislation.
- Sean McIntyre asked Rotarians to review the committee chairs list for corrections.
- Anne Schuchert (Pete Wallace’s granddaughter) invited Rotarins to the Iowa Miles of Smiles Concert event at West High on March 29th, 6 pm, $10 and a student artwork auction. Herb and Janice Wilson will match all ticket sells.

After retiing from ACT, Kathy Jacobs shared her new commitments with the ACT Foundation, the Free Medical Clinic and the Agudas Achim Synagoge. Welcome Kathy!
