PROGRAM:
President Margaret Reese introduced today’s speaker, Doug Boldt, the City Administrator for Tiffin. He has served in that role for that past 9 years. The last census indicated that there are about 4,500 citizens of Tiffin, but the current water usage indicates that there are likely around 6,000. Tiffin expects to be at 7,000 during their special census next year. Their goal is to have a population of 10,000-12,000 by 2030.

The town started with 360 people and three-square blocks in the 1990s. The city is now in their third phase of urbanization. The North Park Road Urbanization project will connect Highway 6 to Oakdale with four lanes. Trails will also be developed that will connect to Clear Creek and Kent Park. A Recreation and Wellness Center has been proposed to meet residents’ needs, with plans to expand in the future as Tiffin grows. There are also plans for another subdivision, multifamily developments, and mixed-use developments. A new Slims Saloon has been designed to preserve the original concept and add in mixed-use space. The I-80 Commerce Park will continue to be developed in the coming years.

The meeting ended at 1:00pm with President Margaret Reese leading the assembly in reciting The Four Way Test.
