Background
The Rotarians Supporting Women Committee was established in 2016 within the Iowa City Noon Rotary Club. It is our hope that the recipient of this scholarship will use the opportunity for post high school education to develop new skills that can be used to live the ideal characteristics of Rotary.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply, an applicant must be a woman who wishes to continue her education. Students must be planning to attend an accredited trade, vocational, secondary school, college or university. Applicant must be a Johnson County resident at the time of application, and will be attending a school or program in Iowa. While this is open to all people, strong preference will be given to those pursing vocational and/or trade programs. There will be no discrimination in the selection of the recipient in respect to race, religion, creed, color, or Rotary membership of relatives.
Selection of School
Applicant must be accepted to any licensed or accredited trade or vocational school, college or university. Funding will be presented directly to the school the recipient attends.
The Scholarship Award
Each year, at least one scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded. The award may be used to cover the cost of tuition or required costs, fees and expenses; it cannot be used to cover room & board.

All required documents must be submitted by Monday, March 12, 2023. Once applications are reviewed by the committee, virtual personal interviews will be scheduled for those applicants who are selected to proceed with the interview process. Personal interviews will take place by late March via video conference. The decision of the committee will be announced soon after the selection committee meeting and personal interviews. Awards will be mailed directly to the applicant’s school by June 30, 2023.
